I work in the genres landscapes, architecture, nature and people. Primarily, I am involved with projects of long duration, but I also do jobs of a shorter nature.
My work alternates between art projects of my own and various commissions, including ornamentation and collaboration with authors.
Janne Klerk was born in 1953 and has worked as an independent photographer since 1981. She has a virtuoso eye, and cuts to the bone in her representation of reality. A reality which she allows to speak directly through her, and pragmatically and unsentimentally passes on.
Regardless of the motive, Janne Klerk’s photographs are characterized by a crystalline purity, seen with love and depth. She is a truth-seeking photographer and a picture-seeking poet.
Lisbeth Bonde, art critic and author
Janne Klerk does not put her soul into her photographs. On the contrary, she pictures reality as it is and can be seen when viewed correctly. But this way of seeing is not independent of Danish art history or for that matter Danish geology and natural geography. The photographer sees with the eyes of the painter, and those of the researcher. And more than that, Janne Klerk sees the Danish coasts with the eyes of the humanist.
