My work on The Coasts of Denmark had its origins in an earlier project dealing with the Danish coasts. In 2008, I was one of fourteen photographers invited to portray Denmark, with a theme of my own choosing, under the overall subject “Denmark in transition.” The project was completed in 2010.
Subsequently, with the desire to create an exclusively photographic narrative, I began work, in 2011, on the now completed and current project The Coasts of Denmark.
The task took three years and brought with it extraordinary experiences as well as meetings with many interesting people and surprising new places.
